Our journey began fifteen years ago when Fiona and James returned to Devon and founded a long-standing and proven residential lettings and management company. In the years that followed they saw a demand from holidaymakers and owners alike for a service that offered and provided luxury homestays, as a result, they decided to create Fresh Escapes.
We pride ourselves on the homestays we offer our guests, each of which has been styled, staged and designed by one of Interior Designers supported by our Account and Property Management Team. Our homes allow you an ‘escape’ from the COVID-19 Pandemic (assuming you are allowed to travel), if you are preparing family gatherings to celebrations or simply if you want a simple city, walking or beach retreat. All of our homes offer something for everyone..
We combine premium, global intelligent bookings management, and integrated property management to provide an end to end platform that not only generates a higher income for our owners but also helps to minimise operational costs.
Many of our Owners enjoy that they only have to deal with one company for marketing, changeovers, compliance and property management which really does take away not only the hastle factor of dealing with much larger companies that tend to outsource most of these elements but they also considerably reduce your bottom line.
We like to explore the potential for any property joining our portfolio. So rather than breezing in and insisting on a whirl-wind of change, we prefer a subtler approach of interpreting, embellishing and encouraging our Owners to develop and incorporate all the ideas we will be sharing with you — ideas we hope you’ll agree will bring enrichment to your guests holiday experience. For example, not only do we put appropriate emphasis on preserving key pieces of furnishings and existing features in certain rooms but we also hope to expand upon your individual sense of style.
We have used James and Fiona for nearly two years now. After having quotes from 3 of the usual big players in the market we became frustrated that nobody saw the potential revenue or the vision of what we were trying to do. We decided to market the business ourselves, this worked reasonably well but the pressure of changeovers was beginning to take its toll. We then met James and Fiona and they saw what we were trying to achieve and where we were missing out. From there, our bookings have gone up and continue to increase every month. Meanwhile, we don’t have the pressure and stress that comes with changeovers, linen or cleaning. A1 service! Having been to a number of there other properties we can testament that they have a stunning portfolio in some lovely destinations!

Both James and Fiona are very committed and responsive. We started letting our place just as they were setting up Fresh Escapes, so there were some inevitable learnings along the way but now everything runs smoothly. The booking system they use now is really good and gives great clarity and easy to use reporting tools for tax returns etc. Our property is quite quirky and unique, and we like that James gets that and doesn’t try and force a cookie-cutter approach onto us.
